Born and raised in the Bronx, Steven Rivera is a proud Puerto Rican Latino who has dedicated the past 28 years of his life to transforming the healthcare industry. From his early days at NYC Health and Hospitals Corporation to his leadership roles as Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at prestigious organizations like Healthfirst and HealthPlus, Steven's career has been marked by innovation, dedication, and a deep commitment to serving his community.

 

Over the last decade, Steven has emerged as a successful entrepreneur, launching two impactful companies that have significantly advanced healthcare through technology. In 2016, he co-founded Sentry Management Solutions alongside Stella Mateo and Richard Kriss. This groundbreaking technology company revolutionized the management and transport of non-emergency medical transportation. In 2021, Sentry made history as the first New York State-certified minority-owned business to secure the largest contract in MTA history.

 

Steven's passion for supporting small businesses, particularly in inner-city communities, led him to initiate a campaign in 2018 to integrate grocery stores into the OTC Network of retailers. His drive to make healthcare more accessible continued with the formation of ProHealth Connect in December 2019, in partnership with Victor Ruscitto and Andrew Winakor. Launched in January 2022, ProHealth Connect connects over 1,000 local independent retailers, including bodegas, supermarkets, and pharmacies, to provide access to thousands of products under OTC and grocery benefits. As of July 2024, ProHealth Connect serves over 580,000 seniors across 50 states and two U.S. territories - Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands - and continues to expand its reach.
